The Rockin' Rib Fest is an annual event sponsored by Rainbow Foods. This years event was from Wednesday July 24 to Sunday July 28 and located in the open parking lot bounded by 3rd street on the north, 4th street on the south, Niccolet Avenue on the the west and Marquette on the east. Wednesday and Thursday the event started at 11:00 AM and ended at 10:30 PM on Friday and Saturday it started at 11:00 AM and ended at 11:00 PM and Sunday it started at 11:00 AM and ended at 7:30 PM. There were rib meals, rib samples pop, bear and wine all available for sale. Live entertainment was provided daily by local, national and internationally known musical groups. This year the only problem was the first evenings performance was almost totally rained out, everything else for the most part went as scheduled. The event features a contest for the best ribs and the best BBQ sauce with the winning prize worth thousands of dollars.
